Manchester Airport Guide
Introduction
Manchester Airport is located in Ringway, Manchester and is owned by the Manchester Airport Group. The airport is the country’s 12th largest airport serving over 20 million passengers every year. It operates services to over 150 international and domestic destinations and is the base to over 90 airlines. With 3 passenger terminals and one cargo terminal, it is England’s only hub after Heathrow that contains two runways. The terminals of the airport are well equipped with basic amenities, shopping and dining options.
Transport
National Express coach services are used as a transport link from the airport to the city. The distance between the airport and centre of the city is about 8 miles. The airport is expected to undergo development in the future which include a high speed rail station and a metro link to the city. Taxis can be hired directly outside the airport with minimum effort. The airport has 3 terminals and the third terminal is the newest and acts as the major base for British airways. Terminal 3 is directly connected to Terminal 1. Business lounges in terminals 1 and 2 offer added services to business travelers. The airport is directly linked to 4 top hotels, the Crowne Plaza, Bewleys, the Hilton and the Radisson Blu.
